William Wims
"Alas, My Brother"
GIG Wims was a remarkable figure in the Masonic community, known for his forthrightness and unwavering standards. He believed in setting a high bar for what masonry should embody, particularly for those already within the order. To the neophytes, he was a mentor who emphasized learning through observation, always encouraging them with a gentle demeanor. However, he was unyielding with those who should have known better, embodying the duality of a gentle lamb and a roaring lion.
His commitment to responsibilities went beyond mere words; GIG Wims was hands-on, often rehearsing degree work alongside fellow Masons. He understood the difference between instructing and demonstrating, making him an invaluable resource for those seeking to learn. His extensive knowledge of ritualistic practices was impressive, as he ensured that every aspect of the ceremonies was executed with precision...

His Story
Timeliness was another hallmark of his character. GIG Wims believed in starting meetings and rituals on time, often stressing the importance of honoring deceased brothers with proper burials, viewing it as one of the most significant acts of respect and remembrance within the fraternity. His legacy was one of dedication, expertise, and a deep commitment to the principles of masonry. A big pet peeve of his was burying Brother Masons correctly. “It is the most important act of our dear beloved brother.”
